Beatrice Salandy, a first-generation Liberian American from Brooklyn, NY, holds the titles of Founder and Chief Executive Officer. With her diverse range of skills and certifications in culinary arts, cosmetology, aeronautics, performing arts, and philanthropy, she has established herself as a trailblazer, innovator, and entrepreneurial powerhouse. Alongside her impressive academic achievements, including a PhD in food science and a Bachelor's degree in social work, Beatrice's passion shines through in her various ventures. Her unwavering determination and drive have propelled her to remarkable success, embodying the motto "Can't stop, won't stop."

Beatrice is a multifaceted individual, known for her exceptional creativity, business acumen, and resilience in the face of personal hardships. Her quote, "why be ashamed?" reflects her acceptance of the challenges she has overcome, including multiple business failures, the tragic loss of her twins Sage and Aaddaya, her daughter Blessed, and experiences of domestic and sexual abuse. Despite these obstacles, Beatrice has found the strength and determination to forge ahead.

Through her salons, restaurant, and performing art centers, Beatrice has created career opportunities within her community, offering individuals, particularly women, men, and young adults, alternatives to domestic servitude. Her vision for the NY Belles is to break the stigma and silence surrounding trauma-based experiences, providing a safe space for fellowship, healing, and community empowerment. Beatrice's dedication to giving back and strengthening communities is why she is truly a Belle.

Executive Director

Shivonne Ramsay Born in South America, Guyana in the year of 1982 to two immigrant parents. She entered the United States at the very young age of one. Shivonne flourished in the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn. Shivonne has accomplished branding her podcast #Dontdebateme. Shevy is always up for a fight and known for not giving up on herself or anyone she cares about. Shivonne experienced a difficult time in HS which she failed to obtain her HS Diploma, but was able to turn that around later by not only earning her diploma a few months later, but also able to achieve three college degrees. Shivonne recently ended her school chapter after earning a Master in Public Administrations with a wide range of clinical skills and experience some of which is focused on individuals diagnosed with mental illness, MR, substance abuse, and homelessness. Shivonne has worked a collective 15 years in the social services field. Shivonne mission is to mentor, advocate and empower women.  She plans to one day open her own non for profit which will provide counseling for women who have experienced pregnancy loss and are having fertility issues. She herself has experienced the loss of her daughter Sklyar and is passionate about assisting other women with the same experience.  Shivonne is known for being the strong friend, sister, cousin, aunt and daughter. With trauma, sexual abuse, failed relationships, abusive relationships, and failed business plans Shivonne continues to stand strong. Shivonne is a big believer in “ Never allow anyone else to tell your story” With her platform as a Belle she hopes to reach a multitude of women across the world.
